Have you ever been really close with someone in 6th grade and then forget about them for, oh, about 6 years more and when you see them, you remember all of the things you did with them when you were 11? And one of your close friends is now one of their close friends, but you're still not close with one another? And when you sit at the same lunch table even though the "middle" friend isn't there?
Hm.
Maybe it's just me.
When I found that notebook full of old drawings, drawings that we did, I smiled. I smiled because now you're different and so am I, but we still see each other every day, basically. Who do you think we could have been if we were still friends? We could have grown together. But maybe not. Maybe we would have still been completely different people, like we are now. So was it meant to be this way? Was I meant to look back on those memories on paper and say, "we're so different now, but we have this." Probably.
