Flashes of light

Lets focus on the good things!:

-I have a wonderful, loving boyfriend.
-My aunt and uncle are here for a visit. It's nice having them here.
-Tomorrow is Senior Project day and I WILL do well. I am going to get a great grade!

Yay! Good things.

Oh, bad things:

-Vincent's house phone is shut off so we won't be able to talk for awhile. They are also thinking about getting rid of the home phone all together.

Okay, so there's more good than bad. I really want to go home right now. I don't want to see or talk to anyone except Vincent. Well, I actually wanna go home and spend some time with the family. Last night was HYSTERICAL. My aunt and uncle arrived at around 4:30 and we lounged around until my mom came home and then we went out to dinner at around 6:00. I picked the Italian restaurant that my parents like called I Bambini. It's really yummy! My aunt and uncle were drinking beer and wine and laughing and talking loud. They're from New York and it's not like my family isn't, we've just learned to be quiet. I don't think New Yorkers can be quiet at all. It's hard, really. So tonight my family is having our second Thanksgiving. For Christmas from my mom's job, she got a turkey. We decided to save it for when they came down and yeah...that's what we're havin' tonight for dinner! Alongside stuffing and all that good stuff, it's going to be great. Anyway, back at dinner, my uncle and dad were talking about the opłatek which is a 'Christmas wafer' (Polish tradition) where everyone gets a piece of the wafer and you break off a piece of someone's and you wish them health and good luck in the new year or whatnot. We were supposed to do it for our Christmas but I guess my dad forgot.

BUT, the importance of telling what you what the opłatek is, my aunt I guess forgot what that was and all we hear from the end of the table was, "oh yeah, isn't that one of them fruity drinks from the mall?" We're all staring and laughing at her like--what?! I said "Mary, what time is it?" Because you can't talk to her after a certain time. Usually after 9:00 P.M. she goes all loopy. But it was only around 7:00 When this happened.
